So, it's been raining here for the last day and a half, and we have discovered three more leaks on the boat...
Next week will be tackling those. I believe we have identified two of them are coming from the companionway cover (following the water and guessing right now - need to take things apart further once the rain stops). The third is in my berth, I'll have to take some more stuff apart to trace that one, but that seems to be the least pressing one at the moment. The other two are dripping on Michael's work area (right on his computer), and on the end of his bed.
Ah, boat life, always something!
Aside from that fun, I've been working a bit more - still very part time - about 40 hours in the last three weeks. I am definitely learning a ton, seeing a lot of different installs and setups, and feeling a lot more confident. The end of the year should be pretty quiet, a couple days here and there to wrap up projects, but we will take on a new full lithium upgrade at the beginning of the year, so I am excited for that. I want to work on one from start to finish, understand all of the pieces and how they fit together, and really build that understanding to a new level (aside from my rough sketches when I was planning to do my own upgrade).
In my free time (non work hours), I'm planning to work on upping my coding skills again - hoping to pick up some part time work there as well to supplement the budget. Still playing that by ear at the moment, but I'll have most of December to think about it and try to get some ducks in order.
Aside from that, we have definitely been enjoying the sailing :-)
We did not anchor out last weekend, but we did go out both Saturday and Sunday. It was super light winds, but we had a good time, got lots of practice, and really enjoyed just being out on the water. We decided to try some man overboards with random things in the water. Whenever someone would spot something, we would call man overboard, and start the manuever to pick it up. We managed to pick up two mylar ballons, a string of packing bubbles, a plastic soda bottle, and a chick-fil-a cup. Overall, I would call that successful ;-p
This weekend is a bust with the rain, but Michael is on vacation again starting Wednesday, so hopefully we'll get some good sailing in next week and Thanksgiving week. We'll also be celebrating his birthday with some lasagna and cake!
Keep smiling and adventuring!
After you finish your lithium upgrade, if we haven’t sold Sassy Sonja yet, can we talk?
