Thankfully, yesterday's water project turned out to be just a little air in the line. Once we bled it, it worked just fine, pump is still happy and working as expected. After that, we decided to go run some errands. We bought the roller and a couple extra paintbrushes for the kiwi grip, along with some house (boat) hold stuff ;-)
I also had to take some time to figure out a gift for my best friends b-day this weekend - she lives in IL - so I had to include time to ship it ;-)
It was a slow start, but our neighbor is hoping to head out tomorrow, so we decided to join the other neighbors and have some cocktails together. We had a great time hanging out and chatting with everyone - thanks Bob and Sonja for hosting!
The big news though, is that we got the first estimate from our riggers - it is about what we expected. I sent back a couple questions and I am hoping to get a response either late today or early tomorrow. It was good to make some progress on the rigging, we are really looking forward to getting the mast back and doing some sailing!
With that in mind, Bean and I decided to start tackling the non-skid. It will be much safer to sail if we have that done before we go pick up the mast. We decided to start with a small section of the cockpit first since neither one of us had done this before. We taped off the area behind the wheel, gave it a light sanding, wiped it with a damp cloth, and....
It actually went really smooth. We applied the paint, used a brush to spread it around, and then used the supplied roller to give it texture. It looks really nice and it was really easy to put on :-)
Here is the final product:
We are hoping to get everything done by the end of next week, doing small sections at a time and not stressing ourselves :-) Wish us luck!
